* The Bacteriologists' reports call attention to desired improvement.
By the old test, of a total of 138, 107 were in the categories
"Very Satisfactory" or "Satisfactory" and 22 "Passable." In
the latter group the bacteriologists invariably amplified their
classification with a special note.
By the new (provisional) test, 91 were in Grade I, 29 Grade II,
13 Grade III and 5 Grade IV.
When an unsatisfactory sample is obtained the vendor is
re-sampled as soon as possible.
In the case of ice cream manufactured other than within the
district, copy reports are sent to the appropriate local authority.
Ice Lollies.
Eight samples were submitted to the Public Analysts who
reported all free from metallic poisoning.
(c) Meat and Other Foods.
The Live Stock (Restriction of Slaughtering) Order, 1940, continued
in force and no slaughtering was carried out.
