as follows:—
"I have pleasure in submitting a short account of the
activities of the Walthamstow District Nursing Association for
the year 1946.
"It has been a busy but entirely satisfying year—midwifery
and general nursing cases were equally heavy and we
fed we have really justified our existence.
"We are all most grateful for the continued help we
receive—in particular we are grateful to Dr. Sheppard and the
Health Visitors for all their attention to the midwifery cases
referred to Low Hall Lane Clinic and to Dr. Rodway at Thorpe
Coombe who so willingly finds room for midwifery cases which
for one reason or another cannot be nursed in their own homes.
"We are fortunate in having more staff for the general
nursing—four of these nurses are midwives and have been able
to help the Municipal Midwives fulfil their heavy obligations.
"The cases for the year ending December 31st, 1946, are as follows:—
Municipal. | Voluntary. | Total. | |
---|---|---|---|
Without Doctor | 290 | 20 | 310 |
With Doctor | 46 | 11 | 57 |
