POPULATION.- The Registrar-General's estimate of the
population at mid-year, 1943, showed an increase of 1,750 on
the previous figure.
UNEMPLOYMENT.- The degree of unemployment in the area during
1943 may be estimated from the following data kindly supplied
by Mr.H.A.Jones, Manager of the Local Employment Exchange.
