TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE
PUBLIC HEALTH COMMITTEE.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
In accordance with v»ar-time custom the report
is again curtailed and duplicated. Generally speaking the
report again shows a satisfactory position in the fifth year of
vzar.
The estimated population is not published
but shows a natural increase of 534.
The birth rate is 2.4 per cent, higher than
that for the Administrative County of London, and the death
rate is 2.2 per cent. less.
With the permission of the Controller the
perconnelof the Civil Defence Casualty Service assisted very
materially in the maintenance of the various health services.
