Act, 1936:-

D. Proceedings under Section 12 of the Housing
Act, 1936:-
(1) Number of separate tenements or underground rooms
in respect of which Closing Orders were madeNil.

INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
MILK SUPPLY.
The average number of cows kept in the Borough is seven.
There is only one cowshed and eight visits were paid by the
Sanitary Inspectors in addition to special visits paid by
your Chief Sanitary Inspector.
The number of retail purveyors of milk is 48, many of whom
carry on a general shop and sell milk in bottles as they
receive it. Routine visits were paid to maintain the general
standard of cleanliness.
During the year 33 samples of milk were taken for bacteriological
examination. Four gave unsatisfactory results.
