''Other Diseases" included rubella, simple tonsillitis, colds,
erysipelas and oases sent in for observation in whom no specific
symptoms developed.
AGE AND SEX AT DEATH.
Fourteen deaths occurred, details of which are given below:-
8 Pulmonary Tuberculosis 8 Females aged 36, 39, 21, 29, 32,
49, 18 and 25.
1 Broncho-pneumonia 1 Male aged 4 years.
1 " " & Whooping Cough. l Female aged 5 weeks.
3 Diphtheria 1 Female aged 4f years, 2 Males aged
6 and 7 years.
1 Facial Erysipelas 1 Female aged 51 years.

"Other diseases" covers a wide range of cases viz: measles,
rubella, whooping cough, cerebre-spinal meningitis.
Seventeen cases of Cerebro-Spinal Meningitis were admitted on
notification to us. Twelve cases were confirmed bacteriologicelly.
Four were severe and eight of moderate intensity. All made good
recoveries.
Swabs.- 204 swabs were taken and examined during the year in
the laboratory at the hospital.
Duration of Treatment.- The average duration of treatment
in Hospital was as fallows:-
Diphtheria 43 days.
