(c) Adulteration, etc. (Food and Drugs Adulteration Act, 1928).
Fifty-eight samples of milk were submitted for analysis during
the year.
Of the 58 samples of milk 1 was taken in course of delivery.
No legal procedure was necessary in respect of any sample.
Although the Council is not a Food and Drugs Authority,
such good work has been carried out in the past by continuous
sampling under this Act and the Milk and Dairies (Amendment)
Act that no relaxation in this matter is contemplated.
(d) Chemical and Bacteriological Examination of Food.
Chemical examination is carried out by the Public Analyst,
Dr. Bernard Dyer, at Great Tower Street, E.C.3, and bacteriological
examination by the Counties Public Health Laboratories, 91, Queen
Victoria Street, E.C.4.
(e) Nutrition.
All available means for the dissemination of knowledge with
regard to nutrition have been followed. The nutritional condition
of the school children in the Borough, on the whole, shows improvement.
Details are given in the Beport of the School Medical Officer.
(/) Shell Fish.
There are no shell-fish beds or layings in the Borough.
RENT AND MORTGAGE RESTRICTIONS ACTS,
1920-1923.
During the year ten certificates were granted to tenants and
seven certificates have been issued to owners upon their application
and completion of the scheduled works.
DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS, 1894-1928.
Sheep Scab Order, 1920.—No case of this disease occurred
in the Borough during the year.
The Sheep Scab Order, 1928.—During the year, no sheep
were admitted into the area under Licence for Slaughter.
Swine Fever Order, 1908.—No action was necessary under
this Order during the year.
Regulation of Movement of Swine Order, 1922.—Seven
Isolation Notices affecting 63 swine were received. The Licences
were in all cases duly observed.
Six movement Licences were received under the Order, affecting
36 animals.
