2. Whipps Cross Hospital.
Removal of patients is carried out by ambulances attached to
the Hospital.
3. St. John Ambulance Corps.
Mr. W. H. Hussey, R.N.A.S.B.R., reports as follows: —
First Aid cases attended 951
Number of patients removed 826
Mileage 17,146
Number of road accidents 41
Local duties at cinemas, sports meetings, cricket, football,
outings and functions of all kinds, have been covered by request as
usual.
Our members are now trained in air raid protection work.
Classes in First Aid, Home Nursing, Hygiene, Gas Protection
and Decontamination have been well attended by the public of
Walthamstow and the surrounding districts.
Nursing in the Home.
(a) General.—No change since 1931.
(b) Infectious Diseases.—No change since 1931.
Clinics and Treatment Centres.
Foot Clinic.—Total attendances were 10,992, and of these
1,483 were by new patients and 9,509 were re-attendances by old
patients. The receipts were £428 4s. 0d.
A part-time chiropodist was employed when necessary in addition
to the two full-time chiropodists.
Women's Clinic.—Sessions were held weekly, with one consultant
session monthly.
Miss Basden continued as Consultant-in-charge with Miss
Helen Rodway, M.C.O.G., in charge of the weekly sessions.
