Industrial Activity.—Considerable industrial activity has been
apparent in the erection of new factories and in the extension of
existing works.
Parks and Recreation Grounds.—Low Hall Sports Ground.—
The construction of a Sports Pavilion, Groundsman's House and 12
Tennis Courts have been completed.
Extracts from Vital Statistics.—The Registrar-General's
mid-year, 1937, estimate of population (viz., 131,900) has been
used for the calculation of all vital statistics:—
