Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1927.—The following
table gives information required by the Ministry of Health:—

(c) Refused Nil
Periodical quarterly inspections are made to each Home, in
addition to any visits necessary for special inquiries.
The application for the registration of additional beds was in
respect of two beds.
In accordance with Circular 1574, issued by the Ministry of
Health in September, 1936, a circular was sent to all general
practitioners practising in the area giving particulars of Nursing
Homes registered under the Act in the Borough, and requesting
particulars of any unregistered premises known to them. None
were reported.
Essex County Council Act.—Two licences to practice
chiropody were granted by your Council.
C.—SANITARY CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE AREA.
1. (i) Water.—New mains have been installed in the following
roads:—Cooper Avenue, Highfield Avenue, Higham Street, Stirling
Road, Sturge Avenue, Sutherland Road.
The supply is provided by the Metropolitan Water Board and
has been entirely satisfactory in quality and quantity. No action
has been necessary in respect of any form of contamination.
