Industrial Activity.—Considerable industrial activity has been
apparent in the erection of new factories and in the extension of
existing works.
Particular reference must be made to the new industrial developments
on the Lea Bridge site, where factories of attractive design
have been built and are worked entirely by electric power.
Parks and Recreation Grounds.—Low Hall Farm: Sports
Ground.—The construction of the North Access Road, including
bridge over the Dagenham Brook, has been completed, and the
construction of a Sports Pavilion, Groundsman's House and 12
Tennis Courts have been commenced.
Extracts from Vital Statistics.—The Registrar-General's
mid-year, 1936, estimate of population (viz., 133,600) has been
used for the calculation of all vital statistics:—
