" It is pointed out, however, that, pending further consideration
and instructions, the furniture supplied was the
minimum requirement only, as follows:—
For a married couple:—
Double bed, 2 sheets,
1 bolster, 2 blankets,
2 pillows, 1 table,
2 pillow slips, 2 Windsor chairs,
2 armchairs.
"For a single person single bed and appropriate bedding
were supplied; otherwise as for a married couple.
"In one instance two double beds, etc., were supplied for
a family."
The Housing Manager continued to notify the Public
Health Department in advance of any rooms which were to
be vacated owing to the re-housing of the tenant in a Council
house.
A visit was then paid to the rooms by the District
Sanitary Inspector, and a letter was sent either to the landlord
of the house or to the principal tenant threatening proceedings
in the event of any overcrowding being permitted
in the vacated rooms.
In this connection, during the year visits were made to
premises from which the Council have re-housed tenants.
(d) Housing Act, 1930.
Second Programme.
An Inspector of the Ministry of Health held an Inquiry
into the Council's second programme under the 1930 Act on
2nd April, 1935.
Confirmation was received on the 11th June as set out
below:—
