(e) Adulteration, etc. (Food and Drugs Adulteration Act,
1928).
Ninety-three samples of milk were submitted for analysis
during the year.
Of these, 4 were not genuine. One prosecution followed and
is reported under " Legal Procedure."
OFFENSIVE TRADES.
During the year the Council sanctioned the establishing of
the following:—
Fish Curers, 2; Fish Friers, 2.
During the year the Council refused to sanction the following
Offensive Trades:—
Fish Friers, 5; Fish Curers, 2.

THE RENT AND MORTGAGE
RESTRICTIONS ACTS, 1920-1923.
During the year ten certificates were granted to tenants and
two certificates have been issued to owners upon completion of
the scheduled works.
In all cases work which can be enforced by the Housing
Acts has been carried out, but the Rent Acts permit of requirements
in excess of those which can be demanded under the
Housing Acts and which cannot be enforced under them. If
owners do not comply fully with requirements specified on the
certificate granted to the tenants, no clearance certificates are
issued.
DISEASES OF ANIMALS ACTS, 1894-1928.
The Importation of Dogs and Cats Order, 1928.— During
the year five performing Tigers were admitted under Licence into
the area. The conditions of the Licence were duly observed.
