Of these, 80 were genuine, and one sample of milk was not up
to standard. One prosecution followed and is reported under
' 'Legal Procedure.''
OFFENSIVE TRADES.
During the year the Council sanctioned the establishing of the
following:—
Fish Curer, 1; Fish Friers, 4; Rag and Bone Dealer, 1.
During the year the Council refused to sanction the following
Offensive Trades:—
Fish Friers, 7; Fish Curers, 3.
In addition, the Council granted two licences to establish the
trade of a Fish Frier, but these were not taken advantage of by the
applicants, and the trades were not established.
Legal Procedure.
Food and Drugs (Adulteration) Act, 1928:— Fine. Costs.

THE RENT AND MORTGAGE RESTRICTIONS ACTS,

During the year six certificates were granted to tenants and
two certificates have been issued to owners upon completion of the
scheduled works.
