CLINICS.
Dr. Sheppard reports as follows:—
“The work of the Maternity and Child Welfare Clinics continues
to progress and in spite of the extra Welfares at St. Andrew's Road
and Hale End there is, at present, no diminution in the numbers
attending Low Hall Lane. The Hale End and St. Andrew's Road
Centres, however, are flourishing as can be seen by the numbers
attending and even higher numbers are expected in future owing to
the migration to the new Council houses from the St. James' Street
and High Street wards.
"The Voluntary workers continue to render your Council
faithful service which is much appreciated by the Staff.
"The results from the Massage Department are very gratifying.
Miss Hill attends four times weekly including one weekly attendance
at St. Andrews Road.
"The following figures show the work done at the Centres
during the past year:—

"The large increase in total attendances is due to the fact that
the Higham Hill and Highams Park Centres were in operation for
the whole year.
"Ante-Natal.—The Ante-Natal Clinic is held each Monday at
Low Hall Lane. 378 new cases attended, and these made 1,214
attendances, or an average attendance of 24.3 per session as against
21.8 in 1931 and 15.7 in 1930.
