of Movement of Swine Order of 1922. A case of swine fever had
occurred at an adjoining piggery some time previously.
The ducks' eggs had been freshly delivered on 7th and 8th July
to the local multiple shop which had supplied them and were from
Suffolk and Ireland respectively.
The veal had been supplied from Smithfield Market.
The occurrence of swine fever at the piggery adjoining the
one from which the pig slaughtered in the Borough was supplied is
suggestive, but even if this was the source of infection there would
be little likelihood of naked eye evidence of contamination or of
unfitness for food.
Ducks' eggs have frequently been proved to be a common
vehicle of infection for B. Aertrycke and here again there would
probably be no signs of unfitness.
