the reception of general as well
as maternity cases, provided
that for general cases a resident
qualified Nurse is employed,
and that for maternity patients
a resident qualified Nurse (with
Doctor) or a certified Midwife
is employed for each confinement
and the subsequent 10
days' nursing. (7 beds, including
2 maternity.)

* These Homes were registered under Part II of the Midwives
and Maternity Homes Act, 1926, and therefore became
automatically registered under the Nursing Homes Registration
Act, 1927.
The approved number of beds at the Walthamstow District
Nursing Association was increased to four, with effect from the
27th November.
The total number of beds registered under the Act at the close
of the year was, therefore, 29, of which 20 were for maternity and
9 for general cases.

given under the Maternity and Child Welfare Section of the Report.
Towards the end of the year your Council approved the adoption
of Byelaws under the Act and made application for confirmation
to the Ministry of Health.
