Of the foregoing new cases, the following were notified from Institutions in the district:—

Of the 21 deaths which occurred of Ilford residents, notification had
previously been made of 18 of the cases. In the remaining 3 cases the
presence of tuberculosis was discovered as a result of (a) post-mortem
examination; (b) from changes revealed by X-rays; and (c) the patient
(aged 81 years) was said to have contracted tuberculosis of the spine at
the age of three, but it was not established whether he had been notified.
