Of the 46 deaths which occurred of Ilford residents, notification had
previously been made of 41 of the cases. In the remaining five cases the
presence of Tuberculosis was only discovered as a result of post mortem
examination.

Cases of Tuberculosis, on notification, are visited by the Tuberculosis
Nurses. Cases of longer standing were visited by the Sanitary Inspectors
during the year, a visit being made to each patient every six months;
