No children were admitted to the Country Branch of the Royal National
Orthopaedic Hospital at Stanmore under the scheme in force between the
hospital and this authority.
At the Newbury Hall Clinic, 20 children under five years of age were
treated by the Masseuse during the year, and 172 attendances were made by
these children.
Treatment was also given to 11 children who made 45 attendances at the
Mayesbrook Clinic.
AurM Clinic.—The Aural Surgeon attended at 90 sessions during 1947
and 167 attendances were made by 1 expectant mother and 117 children of
pre-school age. 19 children were operated upon for removal of tonsils and
adenoids: 10 at Queen Mary's Hospital and 9 at King George Hospital.

Rheumatism C linic .—33 sessions were held during the year at Newbury Hall, at which 19 children under 5 years of age, 9 being new cases, made 43 attendances. The following is a summary of the cases treated:-

Artificial Sunlight Clinic.
47 sessions were held at the Newbury Hall Clinic and 49 at Mayesbrook
Clinic. 69 children in all were treated, making 1,088 attendances.

38 cases were still attending at the end of the year ; of the remainder 1 had
removed from the district, 7 were discharged, having shown improvement, 5
were discharged having made a satisfactory recovery, 17 were discharged due
to absence and 1 was discharged having made no progress.
