Ophtiiaimic Clinic.-15 expectant and nursing mothers and 148 children
under 5 years of age were treated by the Council Oculist during 1947 : 61
pairs of spectacles were supplied, 13 to mothers and 48 to children.
Orthopaedic Clinic.
(i) Newbury Hall Clinic.-46 sessions were held during 1947, 301 children
under 5 years of age being examined, making 765 attendances.
(ii) Mayesbrook Clinic.-30 sessions were held during 1947, 174 children
under 5 years of age being examined, making 415 attendances.
The 475 children were found to bo suffering from the following defects:-
