100 children (43 boys and 57 girls) were involved, 57 being of school age.
In addition to this work, 261 supervision visits were paid to different cases,
some of which were made to those reported during the previous year.
An annual grant of £2 2s. is made by the Ilford Committee for Education
to this Society.
The Invalid Children's Aid Association.—27 children were sent to
residential schools and paid for by the Education Committee in 1945. In
addition 11 children were sent to Convalescent Homes or Residential
Schools and paid for through voluntary funds. Also 2 children were placed
in various Homes, their parents voluntarily paying the full costs.
An annual grant of £50 is made by the Ilford Committee for Education
to this Association.
Physically Defective Children.—During 1945, 6 cases were referred for
medical examination and report. The following is a detailed summary of
the children dealt with under this heading:—

Cripple—Special school for Cripples 3

were medically examined and reported upon under the Education Act,
