Sewers.
The following Sewer Works were performed during the year:-
Denmark Street | 350 feet run new 4 ft. by 2 ft. 6 in. brick sewer. |
Betterton Street | 410 feet run existing sewer underpinned and repaired. |
Shaftesbury Avenue, from Endell Street to High Street, and Dyott Street, south end | 250 feet do. do. |
Bloomsbury Square, from Bedford Place to Great Russell Street | 150 feet do. do. |
Marchmoat Street | New side entrance. |
Little White Lion Street | do. do. |
The east end of the sewer in Castle Street which terminated
with a head wall was connected with the sewer in
Neal Street.
The whole of the covers to the side entrance to sewers
were repaired and painted at a cost of £26 19s. 1d.
Flushing of Sewers and Courts.
The following sewers were twice flushed by water obtained
from the New River Company's mains; once in June
and again in September.
