The Board of Works for the St. Giles District.
ANNUAL REPORT
FOR THE YEAR ENDING 25th MARCH, 1874.
The Board, in compliance with the requirements of the Metropolis
Management Act (under which it was constituted), presents to the
Parishioners the Annual Report of its proceedings, comprising the
Works commenced and completed, and those in progress; the
proceedings for the Removal of Nuisances, and the improvement of
the Sanitary Condition of the District; the Reports of the Medical
Officer of Health, and of the Analyst under the Adulteration of Food
Act 1872, together with the Accounts, in abstract and summary
statements.
The meetings held during the year commencing June, 1873, and
ending May, 1874, have been as follows:—

10 „ of the Works Committee
20 „ of the Sanitary Committee
7 „ of Special Committees on various subjects

It will be seen by the Accounts appended to this Report, that
the sum of £3,434 16s. paid to the Metropolitan Board of Works
consisted of the following sums, for payment whereof precepts were
made on this District, viz.:—
For the Consolidated Rate, including therein
Main Drainage, Fire Brigade, Sinking Fund
and General Expenses, the sum of . £3,377 1 9
For payment of the debts and liabilities of
the late Commissioners of Sewers 57 14 3
Making together £3,434 16 0
