The position regarding the four children under 16 on the
register as at 31st December 1968, is as follows: three are attending
special schools for the blind and partially sighted, and one is still
in a hospital for mentally subnormal children.
282 persons out of the total of 342 (82 per cent) on the blind register are over the age of 60. The age at onset of blindness was as follows:
