VACCINATION AND IMMUNISATION
The acceptance rate by parents for vaccination and
immunisation is reasonable in the borough. There was a further fall
in the number of primary vaccinations and immunisations recorded but
this was largely due to a fall in the number of births. The reduced
number of booster immunisations against diphtheria and tetanus was due
to the implementation of the Department of Health and Social Security's
revised schedule whereby 8 year olds no longer receive these
injections. Immunisation against measles began in May 1968.
