During 1968 it was the school's aim to achieve better
contacts and relationships with the community. To improve relationships
with parents monthly open evenings were inaugurated. Termly
news letters and annual reports were prepared for distribution and
many invitations were given to parents to come to the school. The
school was visited by teachers from other schools, students,
lecturers and social workers, and teachers at the school made visits
to other establishments. In addition members of staff were involved
in one or more of 14 different courses and conferences held during
the year.
The school's success in swimming continued and the children
won 3 gold, 5 silver, and 10 bronze A.S.A. medals.
A group of the best readers in the school visited the local
library weekly in the hope that their interest in reading would be
continued at home and maintained after leaving school.
The employment position continues to present few problems
and all our leavers since January 1968 have been found employment.

were assisted in finding employment by the Youth Employment Service.
