Non-registration of Premises, Most of the 121 notices concerned
new premises or premises which had been vacated and re-occupied.
general defects. In 11 cases attention was drawn to general
safety precautions.
Accidents. 77 accidents were reported compared with 72 for the
previous year. These were as follows:-
Falls 30
Handling of goods 24
Hand tools 13
Others 10 77
Prosecutions. There were no prosecutions during the year under
review.
11. NOISE.
Sixty-eight complaints of alleged nuisance from noise were
received during the year of which 35 were confirmed. Twelve concerned
industry, thirteen commercial undertakings and ten domestic
sources.
The investigation of these complaints necessitated prolonged
visits, sometimes during the night, in order to assess the degree of
nuisance caused to the complainants.
Three members of the staff attended courses of instruction at
Kingston College of Technology on noise.
