For various reasons the redrainage of the houses in
Elton Road was not proceeded with during the year.
Before this extensive work is put in hand a new length
of sewer is necessary, and pending this improvement the
common drain at the rear of the premises has been kept
cleared from time to time. (Note. The required new sewer
was completed in the early part of the present year).
In as many cases as possible where combined drains
have to be reconstructed, plans and detailed specifications
are prepared on behalf of the several owners free of cost.
By undertaking such work it is possible to assure the use
of good quality materials and to maintain more complete
control over the workmanship throughout. The respective
owners give instructions direct to their selected contractors
and are responsible for the costs incurred.
