In Florence Road a short terrace of 9 cottages were
found to be in bad condition and at the end of the year
the question of demolition of these cottages was still under
consideration.
In addition to 18 houses demolished in Canbury "A"
Clearance Area, 23 "individual" houses were demolished
during 1936, as set forth below:—

Nos. 4, 6, 8, 52 & 54, Washington Road.
Overcrowding Survey
In the early months of 1936 a survey of the Borough
was made in accordance with the requirements of the
Housing Act, 1935 to ascertain what overcrowding existed.
