The statistical statement relating to Housing is set out
in the manner suggested by the Ministry of Health on
pages 25 to 28.
1t will be seen that there was a very considerable
increase in this branch of the work during 1936 compared
with previous years. Nine hundred and sixteen dwelling
houses were inspected under the Public Health or Housing
Acts, as against 534 in 1935. Of those 916 houses, 236
were surveyed thoroughly in accordance with the Housing
Consolidated Regulations, 1925, and the details of ownership,
tenancy, structure and general condition etc. together
with a copy of the informal notice (if any) served in respect
of each house were filed for future reference.
The situation of these 236 houses is set out below:—
