The Survey under Section I of the Housing Act 1935,
to ascertain the extent of overcrowding in the Borough,
was commenced on December 30th, and temporary additional
staff was engaged to assist in this work.
The incidence of notifiable infectious diseases has
remained low, and there has been a remarkable absence
of non-notifiable infectious disease, since there has been no
measles and only a few cases of whooping cough.
I thank the staff for their willing assistance at all
times.
I am, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient servant,
E. W. MATTHEWS,
Medical Officer of Health.
