The number of animals slaughered at private slaughterhouses during the last five years is shewn in the following table:—
1929 | 11,704 |
1930 | 11,821 |
1931 | 9,629 |
1932 | 10,181 |
1933 | 6,928 |
The sudden large decrease this year is mainly due to
the fact that at the end of 1932, a private slaughterhouse
at No. 90, Acre Road was closed. Up to that time much
killing had been done at this particular slaughterhouse, most
of which has now been transferred to slaughterhouses outside
the Borough.
(iii) Nutrition.
No special work has been done on this subject. Information
and knowledge on this matter is disseminated by
the Medical Officers presiding at the Centre, and good work
in this direction is done by the Nurses when home visiting.
