SCHOOL HYGIENE.
A general review of the Public Elementary Schools was
given in the Annual Report for 1925, and a list of repairs
and improvements was set out in last year's Annual Report.
During 1927 the following repairs have been carried
out :—
Homier Hill Road School.
The tar-paved playgrounds have been repaired, tarred
and gritted.
A Teachers' Room, and the lavatories in the Boys',
Girls', and Infants' Departments have been distempered
and painted where required.
Richmond Road School.
The whole of the playgrounds of the Boys', Girls'
and Infants' Departments have been repaired, tarred and
gritted.
The Head Teachers' Rooms have been redecorated.
The Bungalow Classroom in the playground of the Infants'
Department has been painted externally. The lavatories in
the Boys', Girls', and Infants' Departments have been distempered
and the woodwork painted.
MEDICAL INSPECTION.
All Departments of every School are visited by the
School .Medical Officer each term for the purpose of carrying
out Routine, Special, and Re-inspections.
A full description of the methods employed at these
inspections was set out in the Annual Report for 1925.

Parents are warned beforehand as to the hour their children are to be medically examined at Routine Inspections, and during the year attended as follows :—
