The equal division of work between the School Nurses,
which was commenced in January, increased the efficiency
of the Service.
The year has been a satisfactory one for the School
Medical Service, progress having been made in many
directions, particularly the added facility for operative treatment
of tonsils and adenoids.
In future, further extension of dental work will become
necessary in order to include additional age groups, and
ultimately embrace the whole School population.
There remains the question of X-ray treatment for
ringworm, and possibly the treatment of delicate children
by artificial sunlight.
Again the disposal of feeble-minded children is a matter
which must be investigated later.
I thank the Nursing Staff, under the direction of Miss
R. Bartter, for their excellent work throughout the year.
I am,
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your Obedient Servant,
E. VV. MATTHEWS,
School Medical Officer.
