Avenue, had six beds for Maternity cases.
Birkenhead
This Home was closed in May owing to Puerperal
Fever, and had not been re-opened by the end of the year.
Four private Maternity Homes were registered by the
Surrey County Council at the following addresses in the
Borough:—
Mrs. Burns : 9/11, Minerva Road. 8 beds
Mrs. Burrows : 35, Balmoral Road. 1 bed.
Miss Duckett : 31, Queen's Road. 5 beds.
Mrs. Evans : 22, Fairfield South, 2 beds.
The Kingston and District Hospital (Board of
Guardians) have Maternity Wards.
