In addition to the foregoing, all articles returned to the Department's loan
cupboard after use were sterilised or disinfected before re-issue.
* Use of the steam disinfector at the Sewage Works ceased in 1960 and, by
arrangement with the Hospital Management Committee, this work now
is carried out at the Chadwell Health Hospital.
