BACTERIOLOGICAL SAMPLINO 1967
Milk
85 samples of milk, were submitted for bacteriological and chemical examination during the year. One
sample (A.2800) was unsatisfactory.
Ice Cream
42 samples of Ice cream were submitted for bacteriological examination with results as follows:

In addition 9 samples required reduction of conform organisms.
323 premises are registered for the sale of Ice cream, of these 18 were new registrations. 22 premises
remained on the register for the manufacture of Ice cream.
Adequate Inspection of places of manufacture was carried out.
Bath Water
4 samples - all saltable for bathing.
Rag Flock
6 samples - all satisfactory.
Fertilisers & Feeding Stuffs
3 samples - 2 unsatisfactory.
F. F. S. 185 Bone Meal - deficient In phosporlc acid 1.65%.
F. F. S. 186 Meat Bone Meal - did not comply with Vendor's statement.

There were 490 visits to premises in connection with the health and comfort provisions of the Act,
and :0 premises were found to be unsatisfactory.
Visits regarding records required to be kept were 573 and In 135 cases the records were found to be
not properly kept.
One thousand two hundred and seventy-one shops were visited after closing hours and 483 visits were
made during holiday closing time.
Though the great majority of shop-keepers are co-operative In the matter of closing hours, It was
necessary to Issue verbal cautions In 42 cases and to write warning letters In 11 Instances.
