All these vaccinations were carried out by general practitioners.
There were no cases specially reported during the period under review
of : -
(a) Generalised vaccinia.
(b) Post-vaccinal encephalomyelitis.
(c) Death from complications of vaccination other than (a) and (b).
SECTION 27 - AMBULANCE SERVICES.
At the request of the Ministry of Health, statistics of work carried
out by the Ambulance Service are now incorporated with financial information
in a cost statement rendered in respect of the year ending on 31st
March. Statistics are not now maintained in respect of the calendar year
only and the figures quoted in this section of the report are extracted
from the annual costing returns for the years ending 31st March 1951 and
31st March, 1952.
It should be noted that the Hospital Car Service does not operate in
the area of the Authority, and the Ambulance Service is not responsible for
the transport of children to schools or occupation centres.
Mutual Assistance arrangements with the London County Council for the
removal of typhus and smallpox patients, and with the West Ham County
Borough and Essex County Councils for general assistance were in operation
throughout the year.
