Maternity and Child Welfare.
Midwifery Services.
At the end of the year there were 4 permanent and 3 temporary
midwives engaged full-time carrying out domiciliary duties
as municipal midwives.
The three nurses engaged temporarily to assist in the visiting
and nursing of mothers as stated in my report for 1946 terminated
duty in September and were replaced by full-time temporary
midwives.
Number of cases attended by them since 1943 is shewn below:—
