Ascertainment.
The number of cases dealt with for the first time during the
year 1947 was 17, and they were dealt with as under:—
1 placed in Institution.
14 placed under Statutory Supervision.
1 placed under Friendly Care.
1 attending Special School (Besford Court).
Provision of Institutional Accommodation.
Whilst the difficulty experienced in obtaining institutional
accommodation generally has been relieved by the erection of
South Ockendon Colony, additional facilities are urgently required
for low grade defectives under 5 years, and also for cases of Spastic
Diplegia.
