The number of deaths of illegitimate children was 2 out of a total1
of 108 illegitimate births, giving a mortality rate of 18 as compared
with a figure of 38 per 1,000 illegitimate live births for the year 1945.
Infantile mortality rates since 1942 are as follows:—

Population.
The Registrar-General's estimate of the population to the middle
of 1946 is 113,570, which is an increase of 18,340 compared with that
for the year 1945. The rates per 1,000 of the population mentioned in.
this report are based on this estimate.
