Physiotherapy and Light Clinic.
Attendances continue to increase. Many forms of radiation and
electrical treatment are now given for diverse conditions, together
with massage, corrective and developmental exercise.

Attendances for artificial sunlight have been the highest for some years.

The appointment of an Orthopaedic Consultant has not yet been
made and when necessary, cases are referred to general hospitals.
Child Guidance Clinic.
Children in need of advice and treatment are referred, after
investigation at the School Health Clinic, to the Child Guidance Clinic
at East Ham Memorial Hospital. This is held weekly and attended
by medical and other staff of the Runwell Mental Hospital.
When suitable accommodation becomes available, a clinic will
be established as an integral part of the School Health Service—a
psychiatrist, an educational psychologist, and a social worker will
comprise the team.
East Ham Memorial Hospital.
During the year, agreement was concluded with East Ham
Memorial Hospital by which the Authority assumes financial responsibility,
in accordance with the provisions of Circular 102, for all
East Ham school-children treated as in- or out-patients. The scheme
came into operation on 1st October, and is functioning satisfactorily.
