3. Prolapsed cord.
4. 2nd Twin—prolapsed cord.
5. Cord round neck 4 times—died from asphyxia before
delivery.

(b) Cause of death in each case and results of post-mortem examination
(if obtainable).
1. Prematurity 28 weeks due to pregnancy toxaemia.
2. Spina bifida.
3. Intercranial haemorrhage.
4. Prematurity 30 weeks.
5. Numerous deformities.
6. Prematurity due to pregnancy toxaemia.
7. 2nd twin died prematurely.
8. Prematurity 30 weeks.
*Although no beds were reserved for expectant mothers, 50 such cases received
hospital treatment in the 16 maternity beds.
†Based on the actual number of days each patient stayed.

a doctor.
