Three hundred and thirty-seven children considered physically
defective and 54 children suffering from glandular and noninfectious
pulmonary tuberculosis, are attending ordinary elementary
schools.
Mentally Defective Children.
During the year 1935, the number of cases examined for
purposes of the Mental Deficiency Acts was 24 (37 in [1934).
Of these, six were classified as mentally deficient and 15 as dull and backward, recommendations being made as shown in the following table :—

There are at present no Nursery Schools in East Ham.

There are two secondary schools in East Ham, and tables
relating to the work carried out in connection with these schools
are appended.
20. CONTINUATION SCHOOLS.
There are at present no Continuation Schools in East Ham.
