In the early summer complaints were received relative

many breeding places was made and revealed serious infestation.
Spraying with a suitable larvicide was immediately carried out and
systematically repeated throughout the summer with good results.
The sealing of certain surface ventilators on the Northern outfall
sewer was completed in the early summer.

The Caravan encampment at Wall End
was the subject of a number of special reports to
the Council, and a policy of treatment has been formulated.
A survey in August, 1935, indicated that there
were 122 vans and 21 sheds occupied in 32 enclosures.
There were 29 unoccupied vans on the site. Of the total 172 vans
and sheds, 106 had been on the site for two years or more. The
population of the encampment was 492. In consequence of service
of notices, 10 caravans removed from land on which they were
situate in contravention of the Byelaws. Three occupiers were
each fined £2 for contravening the Byelaws.
