4. Private Practitioners.

In addition to the above2 during the same period, twenty-four children were inoculated three times by Private Medical Practitioners and the ages at which inoculation was performed were as follows:—

N.B.—In considering the combined totals (1-4) it will be
noticed that 55 per cent. of the cases are in the age group 1-5
years, 32.5 per cent. in the age group 6-10 years, and 12.3 per
cent. in the group over 10 years.
The Schick test for susceptibility to Diphtheria was performed
during the year in 541 of the completed cases of which 533 proved
negative. In eight of the cases positive results were obtained and
further inoculations were carried out.
