Wanstead Flats is an open unfenced space under the control
of the City Corporation. The Royal Victoria Gardens is an
enclosed park abutting on the River Thames and under the control
of the London County Council, nine acres being in this Borough,
and one acre in the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich.
Cemeteries.
The following is a list of the cemeteries in the Borough:—
City of London,
Manor Park,
Woodgrange,
Jews' Cemetery (Plashet),
Jews' Cemetery (Greatfield),
St. Mary the Virgin Churchyard,
St. Mary Magdalene Churchyard,
the total acreage being 278 acres.
No complaint was received during the year of improper
burials.
