Only those reacting negatively to the Dick test are permitted
to commence duties in the scarlet fever wards. This occasionally
necessitates delay in making use of the services of the nurse.
Diphtheria prophylaxis is carried out before any member of
the nursing staff is allowed in these wards.
One nurse contracted Diphtheria, one Scarlet Fever, and one
Diphtheria and Scarlet Fever.
