Mental Deficiency.
The difficult situation as regards institutional treatment for
mental defectives eased considerably during the year with the
opening of part of the new institution at Ockendon belonging
to West Ham. The bulk of East Ham cases receiving treatment
in the L.C.C. Institutions were transferred to Ockendon, as well
as those on our long waiting list which were suitable.
